RATUSIŃSKA, Weronika (*1977)

Polish composer, violinist and educator, graduated with distinction from the F. Chopin Music Academy in Warsaw in 2001, having studied composition under Włodzimierz Kotoński and Stanisław Moryto. She spent 2001 to 2002 on a post-graduate internship at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, supervised by Louis Andriessen and Martijn Padding. She was awarded the title of Doctor of Music in 2009 and has been on the faculty of the Chair of Composition at the F. Chopin University of Music in Warsaw since 2002. She has won numerous awards from composition competitions. Her works have been performed at countless festivals in Poland, as well as in Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, Holland and Ukraine.
