The Christmas Eve Star with the Guitar is a collection of twelve Christmas carols in the simplest of arrangements. They make use of the basic sounds and elementary right- and left-hand techniques, while the predominance of open strings and schematic fingering are related to the methods and material found in the popular First Class Guitar book. The lyrics to several verses are given alongside the melody, with the guitar chord symbols above them, in order to encourage the guitarists to try their hand at accompanying.
